For 2019, the U.S. Mint is striking the exceptionally popular Palladium Eagle coin in Reverse Proof finish, with a mintage of only 30,000 coins.
The coin is struck in high relief, the obverse features a likeness of “Winged Liberty” from the “Mercury Dime” obverse by famed American coin designer and medallic artist Adolph A. Weinman.
The reverse design is also by Weinman, a version of his 1907 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Gold Medal reverse, which includes an eagle and a branch. In developing the coin, the United States Mint was able to use the original reverse plaster of the AIA gold medal.
No bullion Palladium Eagle coins will be produced in 2019, making this coin the only 2019 option for investors looking to collect this popular series.
