2021 St Helena Napoleon's Angel .999 Silver 1 Troy oz in BU condition.
This 1 oz silver coin was struck to mark the 200th Anniversary of the death of Napoléon on St Helena.
The design is inspired by the Napoléon Death Medal, which featured an angel draped over the Emperor’s tomb, maybe in protection, perhaps in sorrow. Both the angel and tomb are reinterpreted on this 2021 coin design which features a more peaceful angel standing beside Napoléon’s resting place. The angel stands over Napoléon’s gravestone, which is inscribed with his monogram surrounded by a classical laurel wreath. The East India Company mint mark sits at the base of the coin, flanked by two further sprigs of laurel.
The obverse carries the Ian Rank Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on it, and is issued under the authority of St Helena, which has been long associated with the East India Company.
