Australia Gold Koala, 1/10 troy oz .9999 fine gold in protective acrylic capsule, Business strike (BU).
The Perth Mint introduced the Koala series of coins in 2007 in silver, then in 2008 added coins in gold although only available in proof strikes for many years. They introduced the BU coins starting in 2022.
These limited edition coins change design each year. The coin’s obverse bears the Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Obverse in 2022 and 2023, featuring the Jody Clark effigy with the dates of her reign. From 2024 onward the obverse uses the bust of King Charles III.
The Perth Mint in Western Australia produces legal tender Australian precious metals coins in various sizes for collectors and investors. Most famous for the Chinese Lunar coin series, they also mint the Gold Nugget, the Silver Kookaburras and the Koalas (in Silver, Gold and Platinum).
