2014 Canada Silver Arctic Fox $8 Brilliant Uncirculated .9999 fine Silver 1 1/2 Troy oz.
An extension of the Wildlife Series struck by the Royal Canadian Mint in 1 troy oz, the mint has been issuing these 1.5 oz collector coins. Same diameter as the 1 oz coins (38 mm) but 50% thicker.
These coins feature Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse with "Canada 5 Dollar" underneath, and the reverse design depicts an Arctic Fox in a wintry environment looking over its left shoulder. Inscriptions include CANADA and FINE SILVER 1½ OZ ARGENT PUR.
The arctic fox is also known as a snow fox, white fox or polar fox. The fox has thick fur that turns white in the winter and brown in the summer.
