2001 American Buffalo Commemorative Silver Dollar Proof and Unc Set
Product Description
2001-P American Buffalo Commemorative Proof and Uncirculated Silver Dollar set reproduces one of the most highly desired coins in U.S. history, the Buffalo nickel.
Funds raised from the sale of these commemoratives went to the National Museum of the American Indian of the Smithsonian Institution. The coin was so popular that it sold out at the Mint in 2 weeks.
The proof coins were struck at the Philadelphia Mint, while the uncirculated ones were minted at the Denver Mint. Each is struck with the same composition and sizing as the old (pre-1936) Silver Dollars- 90% silver, 10% copper, 38.5mm diameter and containing 0.7734 Troy oz of silver.
Includes all original mint materials including display box, protective cardboard sleeve and certificate of authenticity.
