1994-P US Veterans Commemorative Silver Dollars Set, which includes three Proof Silver Dollars: the Prisoner of War Silver Dollar, Vietnam Veterans Memorial Silver Dollar and the Women in Military Service for America Memorial Silver Dollar. In original mint packaging with acrylic coin holders, certificates of authenticity and box.
The first coin was issued for the Prisoner of War Memorial Museum to be built in Andersonville, Georgia. The obverse of the coin depicts a bald eagle in flight. There is a broken chain on one leg and barbed wire encircling the design. The reverse of the coin shows the plan view of the proposed Prisoner of War Museum.
The second coin was issued to mark the 10th anniversary of the dedication of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall.
The obverse design features a hand touching the Memorial Wall. The Washington Monument can be seen in the background. The reverse features three military medals.
The final coin was issued for the construction of a new memorial complex for women in military service.
The obverse of the coin features a profile view of servicewomen in the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. The reverse features a view of the proposed Women in Military Service for American Memorial.
These proof $1 Dollar silver coins were struck at the Philadelphia Mint. Each is made with the same composition and size as the old (pre-1936) Silver Dollars- 90% silver, 10% copper, 38.5mm diameter and containing 0.7734 Troy oz of silver, total of 2.32 troy oz.
