The 1984-S Olympics Commemorative Silver Dollar was issued to celebrate the 1984 Olympic Games held in Los Angeles, California. It was the 2nd silver dollar produced for the Los Angeles Olympiad, and features the sculpture located at the entrance to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on the obverse and an American eagle on the reverse.
This proof $1 Dollar silver coin was struck at the San Francisco Mint. It is made the same composition and size as the old (pre-1936) Silver Dollars- 90% silver, 10% copper, 38.5mm diameter and containing 0.7734 Troy oz of silver.
