1883-CC US Morgan Silver Dollar, from the GSA hoard and graded in the US Government holder as a MS-63 Proof-Like by NGC.
The Carson City Mint Morgans are the rarest and most desirable of the silver dollars. The 1883 mintage is not one of the rarer dates, but the Proof-Like condition kicks it up a couple notches in the desirable category.
The Morgan Dollar was minted from 1878 to 1904, but minting was suspended until 1921 as there were too many in circulation. It was then replaced by the Peace Dollar, which was itself discontinued after 1935.
The Silver Dollar contains 0.772 Troy Oz of silver (90% silver alloyed with 10% copper).
